Description:

Narcolepsy is a chronic sleep disorder, and each patient experiences its symptoms uniquely. Understanding the impact and potential changes in symptoms over time or with medication can be invaluable. The Narcolepsy Monitor aims to gather insights into the dynamics of these symptoms.

The Narcolepsy Monitor is designed for individuals who have received a narcolepsy diagnosis from a healthcare professional.

Upon launching the app, users will be prompted to complete a brief questionnaire about their narcolepsy condition. Taking the time to provide accurate responses is crucial as this step is only required once.

The app focuses on assessing the level of difficulty caused by specific symptoms rather than their frequency. This approach ensures that symptoms with minimal impact are not overlooked, even if they occur frequently.

With a visual representation of 5 colored bars indicating perceived burden levels, users can select their narcolepsy symptoms from a list and adjust their burden ratings accordingly. Saving entries after adjustments is essential.

If a symptom no longer poses an issue, users can remove it by dragging it to the trash icon. New symptoms can be added using the addition symbol.

Users have the option to record notes or changes in medication using dedicated buttons provided at the top of the app interface.

The Narcolepsy Monitor was developed through collaboration between the Kempenhaeghe Center for Sleep Medicine, Eindhoven University of Technology, and SEIN Sleep-Waak Center, with implementation executed by Frontwise.
